Tonsils are part of the immune system that are located at the back of the throat (Oropharynx).
Dysphagia (Difficulty In Swallowing)
Dysphagia refers to difficulty in swallowing. It refers to the sensation of food being obstructed anywhere in the food passage from mouth to stomach. Dysphagia can range from mild to severe (not able to swallow even saliva).
Occasional difficulty in swallowing, such as when you eat too fast or don’t chew your food well enough, usually isn’t a cause for concern. But persistent dysphagia can be a serious medical condition requiring treatment.
Hoarseness
Hoarseness or dysphonia is when your voice gets abnormally strained, coarse, raspy, or breathy. It is also associated with changes in the volume and pitch of your voice.
Silent Reflux
Silent reflux is the laryngopharyngeal reflux in which the contents of stomach with acid travels up the oesophagus and reaches the throat and voice box. This is called silent reflux because many of the patients won’t be having the symptom of heartburn as in Gastro oesophageal reflux disease and that is why it can be difficult to diagnose.
Stridor
Stridor is a high-pitched sound that occurs when you breathe through a narrow or partly blocked airway. Air can’t flow through your lungs smoothly, so it’s harder to breathe. Stridor is usually loudest when you breathe in. Stridor isn’t a condition, but a symptom of something else. It can start suddenly or develop over time.
