The treatment options for facial paralysis are broad, ranging from medical, surgical, rehabilitative, or in combination. Electrodiagnostic testing, including electroneuronography, electromyography, and audiology, is used evaluate the chance that the paralysis will recover on its own and not require surgery.

Medication can be used to treat acute facial paralysis and uncoordinated facial muscle movements. Facial fillers can even out any asymmetry within the face. However if surgery is needed, doctors at the multidisciplinary clinic will determine the appropriate surgical approach.

Facial reanimation is a series of advanced surgical techniques that restore movement and symmetry to your face after facial paralysis, nerve damage, or synkinesis. By reconnecting nerves, transferring muscles, or addressing tight or overactive areas, these procedures help  regain control of facial expressions like smiling, blinking, and speaking.
